THE BED

"SHARING A BED & A BEDROOM"

We once had a double bed that Judie, Eileen and I had to share. Everyday we would change places in the bed. We would start out sleeping on one side of the bed. The next night we would move to the middle of the bed and the third day we would sleep on the opposite side of the bed. Then we would go back to the side we started on and repeat this routine over and over.

If we slept on one of the outsides of the bed we would have to help the person sleeping on the opposite side of the bed make it in the morning. The person sleeping in the middle got a break from making the bed. Shirley and Sharon each had their own twin bed. The bedroom was shared by all 5 of us girls.

When we got a little older Judie, Eileen, and I got a single bed to share along with the double bed. We slept in the single bed the first night, then we moved to one side of the double bed the next night, then we moved to the opposite side of the double bed the third night and back to the single bed to repeat it all over again. The one in the double bed had to help each other make it in the morning and the person that slept in the single bed had to make it all by themselves.

I think this was when Shirley moved out of the bedroom.
