ROBBIE and the MORNING KERPLUNK
(by Jeanie)

My bedroom used to be at the end of a long hall when Robbie was little. I was in 9th or 10th grade.

Robbie wore a cute little brace on his leg. He used to run down the uncarpeted hall over and over again every morning and end with a bang at my door. His brace would make a "kerplunk" sound every other step as he ran down the hall.

I could hear him coming and expected the bang at my door before it arrived. He would sometimes bang on the bedroom door next to mine which gave me a little repreive.

He was so cute no one had the heart to stop him. We were just thankful he could walk at all.

His kerplunks and bangs were what woke me up many mornings. I never did figure out why he ran down the hall so much. I guess it was something he just enjoyed doing.

Maybe he just knew we thought he was cute.
