One of my fondest memories is of the beautiful birthday cakes Mom used to make for us girls.

She would purchase a doll and then make a cake in an angel food cake pan and place the doll in the center. Then she filled the center area around the doll with icing and iced the whole cake as the doll’s dress.

      Oh how magical I thought that cake was!!
