"KREMLIN'S 10 CENT STORE"

Every year we girl’s would go to Kremin’s 10 cent store to do at least some of our Christmas shopping.

I loved this store.

There were always so many fascinating things to see. I remember one year pooling our money in order to buy a better gift for Mom. It was a plastic ketchup bottle in the shape of a yellow tomato. We thought it was the most amazing gift. It was so much fun to watch Mom’s face as she opened the gift. I think she thought it was pretty amazing too.

Kremin’s also had gold fish for sale.

How I loved to watch those fish. But what was the most fascinating to me of all were the little turtles he had for sale. Their shells were no bigger than a quarter or fifty cent piece. I could have sat there for hours watching those turtles.
